This 6-week course will give you a hands-on and practical introduction to designing and making digital games as well as augmented reality.

Q: What will I learn?
A: You’ll be given a working introduction to the Unity game engine, 3D modelling and augmented reality, all of which we’ll work with to make a playable game of your own design. You’ll get a taste of writing code, designing assets, and building enjoyable interactions— we’ll be working in teams to spread out the workload and give you as much time as possible on the elements you enjoy. At the end of the course, we’ll share your creations with the world and talk about possible next steps based on your specific interests.

Q: How is the class structured?
A: Each session will feature instruction around one or more of the tools we’ll be using, each building on the last to give you a richer understanding of all the parts and how to best fit them together. The bulk of this will be hands-on, working as a group through practical exercises. As your skills and familiarity increase, larger and larger portions of each class will be dedicated to working on your group project with the assistance and supervision of a tech professional.

Q: Do I need to bring anything?
A: Nothing at all! We’ve got computers ready to go and pre-loaded with the software we’ll be using. As long as you’re willing to learn, we’ve got you covered.

Q: Do I need to know anything in advance?
A: Nope! We’ll start from the beginning and work our way up. If you already know a bit about what we’re teaching, you’ll have plenty of room to expand and apply your knowledge in new ways.

Q: How do I sign up?
A: Registration is now closed.
