Star Wars Day (May the Fourth be with you). It’s the geekiest day of the year if you’re a Star Wars fan or just a science fiction fan in general. We here at TXDL fit into both categories. After all, you can’t love STEM without loving the future! We hope to have or clients and students out there making light sabers (safe ones) and robots soon! Very talented, they are.
It’s really the official holiday of Star Wars. The first recorded use of the greeting was on May 4, 1979 as a greeting for new British PM Margaret Thatcher (I know!). The first organized celebration didn’t take place until 2011 right here in Toronto.
Fun fact: some fans have branched off to celebrate May 5th and May 6th as Revenge of the Fifth and Revenge of the Sixth. Kooky.
